How Long Does It Take for A Trustee to Distribute Assets

Nice to see the forum is back. My discharge was in early June. I'm still waiting closing. The 2K tax refund was taken as assets to be distributed to creditors. The first paper I received stated they had until July 9th now another one states till the end of August. Can the Trustee keep prolonging the distribution and if so why? My attorney said I should get at least $1,200 of it back. I could sure use it but I'm not sure when or how long it will take to distribute it. Has anyone else gone thru waiting a long time for assets to be distributed? I filed Chapter 7 in Ohio.
