: : My filing was July 7th, and I received a statement on July 25th from a credit card. The statement says "Our records show your account is past due", and "Time is running out! We have several repayment plans that can help you. Call 1-888-vvv-xxxx or go to www.xxxxyyyyyy.com to learn more." Statement closing date was 7/18, and another creditor had already sent a cancellation notice as a result of the BK on July 11th to me. Is this a violation of the collection rules? Or, are companies permitted to continue sending routine statements? I'm not planning to press the issue, but am curious how strict the rules are about creditors trying to collect.: : Thanks to all who help on this board, and although my advice is not always perfect, I do hope my responses assist people in some ways.
: CALL THEM & TELL THEM TO STOP!!
: This happens often, until they get it thru their thick heads that you filed, and are not going to pay , they will bug you.
: "leeches"Some of the Creditors can be hard headed. We got our discharge papers and still have one or two collectors sending us bills. So Im not sure what else you can do. They have been notified and seems as though they don't understand english. Go Figure
