It was frozen due to judgements. Also - because I have not been able to access it in a year - it was turned into an abandoned account. Now I have the form indicating my 341 meeting which says that all creditors must automatically stay their proceedings. I don't owe any money to the credit union, all these creditors are pretty much credit cards. Can I go into the credit union and open up a new account? I like the credit union because their fees are small and they are close by. Also - is our family van safe - its in my name. ITs a 1997 Astro, 122K miles on it, and its falling apart - we only have been able to do enough repairs on it to keep the engine going. I am doing this BK on my own, as I don't have anything joint with the hubby. I just take care of the 4 kids. No income for me - will the trustee question this? Ask why I am not working. I could get work - but with my qualifications I would only make minimum wage and that would not cover childcare for the two who are home, I don't have family or friends by me here. I just want to get a new start. Do I state my goals to the trustee? Will this help? that I am intending to go back to school. They only have half day kindergarden by me here, so thats why I am waiting till september to start school. The 2 yr old will go into the college day care while I am studying. I have the trustees number - should I contact them before the meeting - or should I wait till they contact me? I am in NY
