Can I file bankruptcy against payroll taxes from 1994? My company is out of business, and I've been fighting with the IRS for 8 years about this matter. They've jerked me around since the beginning, making up arbitrary amounts that I owed. Everytime I discussed a payment plan and settlement, they handed it over to a new case worker. Basically, I've had it. Now they say I owe $64,000. The tax is actually paid now, this is interest and penalties. Can I go bankrupt against this? I do not own a house or have a car in my name (couldn't get any of that stuff since the IRS had a lien against me). They can't take anything from me, I don't have any assets.
