I received a summons from a credit card company

What do I do? I have to "answer". What do I answer? That I had to leave my asshole exhusband because he started beating the crap out of me and due to this I was homeless for 6 months until I could find a job that would pay daycare and rent for my 5 year old and 16 month old?
Right now I can't even afford to claim bankruptcy.
What do I do? Am I going to jail? Are they going to garnish my wages? I don't even make enough now to pay my bare necessities, my loser ex husband is behind on his child support and I can't even pay my rent this Friday!!!!
