I filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in december 2003, just got my discharge on march 25, 2004. I am very excited and DEBT FREE!!! I've been in research all my adult working life and the decision to file pro se was out of necessity for me but I was able to do all the necessary research myself on what to motion, complaint, objection, etc. to file. I filed a motion to avoid nonpossessory non-purchase money interest on 2 of my creditors and was granted the motion, which meant I got to keep my personal household items i had used as collateral for loans. I filed an exemption on my house that i just bought in august 2002, and was able to keep my house (although the debt was discharged but as long as I keep making the mortgage payments the bank won't foreclose but even if i didn't make payments and the bank did foreclose I could walk away and not owe the debt and now just buy another home!) i just went to battle with a big time student loan company, I filed for determination of dischargeability of students loans and got over $35,000 in federal student loans discharged! I had no attorney whatsoever, just my "lawyer", my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ and the Internet!mzmitchell
