: Not hard at all if you have permission from your trustee to do so. As long as you are current on all your plan payments and other bills you are paying in your plan (i.e., utilities, mortgage), it is not difficult. We obtained 0% financing on a brand new vehicle last spring so higher rates for those in Chapter 13 do not always have to occur. If you do your homework and shop around, that is your key.

: ok here it goes, my husband was in an auto accident recently and his car is totalled, the car payment is in the chapter 13. our chapter 13 is not confirmed yet, but they are deducting it from our pay checks. anyway, my attorney said they will modify the 13 to take out the amount on the car since the insurance will pay it, plus he said we can get a new car. well from my understanding you guys say its hard to get a car loan while in 13, so is that true. i am from ohio

: : thanks

I did a google search and here is a list of auto loan lenders who provide ch 13 loans. It looks like you should not have problems, if your trustee is ok with it.
